Entries are open for the Die Burger Mountain Bike Challenge on 30 July, and close on 18 July. Only the first 3500 entries will be accepted – enter now to avoid disappointment. If you want any of the special event clothing, please order those as you enter as you won’t be able to buy it later.
This year the event will finish at the Eikestad Primary School, where registration will also take place on Friday and Saturday . The start will be on the road between Bloemhof and Eikstad schools as in previous years. A parking map will be available closer to the time.
Every rider that crosses the finish line will get a finisher’s medal and a voucher that entitles you to a discount of 50% for the entrance fee to the Stellenbosch Wine Festival. All participants are invited to stay for the prize giving. A Giant Revel with a value of R2750 can be won in the lucky draw.
Looking forward to Die Burger Mountain Bike Challenge it is important to ensure you bike is in a good working condition. Even though there are water points and Amarider-riders on the routes, please carry some extra inner tubes with you in case of punctures.
Also remember the following: If you are not planning on winning the race, start slower to avoid running out of energy or cramping later in the day. Be in control of your bike especially on descents where it could get slippery. Be patient with fellow cyclist even those who aren’t as fast as you on the single tracks.
