09 Feb 2016 Wacky Wheels Overnight Tour entries are now open!
Entries are filling up for the 2016 PPA Wacky Wheels Overnight Tour from 12 – 13 March. The PPA Wacky Wheels Overnight Tour is a relaxed, very social overnight cycle tour with the emphasis on FUN – no racing, no timing. We drive to a great overnight spot where we set up camp, and then do two scenic cycles on respectively the Saturday and the Sunday.
Our base for the weekend for this year’s Tour is the Kleinmond Caravan Park, from where we’ll pedal out past Onrus to the Hemel & Aarde Valley on the Saturday, and to Bettys Bay and Pringle Bay on the Sunday.
Upon arrival at Kleinmond, we’ll have coffee, rusks and muffins available for you to snack on while you put up your tent and get ready for the day’s ride. We’ll leave our cars at the camp site and start pedalling in small groups no later than 08h30, making our way towards Hermanus where our lunch stop is at a restaurant in the Hemel en Aarde Valley just past Onrus (approximately 40 km away).
Once lunch is done, we’ll head back to Kleinmond to complete our day’s ride. Back at the camp, the rest of the afternoon is yours to play with. Time to explore the beach and Kleinmond if you will!
Prize-giving/lucky draw will start at around 17h30 with plenty of weird and wacky prizes, followed by dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Entries are limited to 40 participants. If space is available, non-cycling partners are welcome to join.
