19 Dec 2011 Three cheers for the ladies! (mostly pics…)
The first all-female “ PPA Heels on Wheels, presented by Shape” took place on Sunday 11 December, with over 560 female cyclists entering the event. Despite the light rain early in the morning, the ladies rocked up en masse for the event.
The venue for this great new event was Rhebokskloof Estate near Paarl. The light drizzle (the rain was predicted to arrive only a day later!) unfortunately played havoc with the start line-up, but a little bit of mud did not deter the ladies and they left at respectively 07h00 and 07h30 for the 47 km and 13 km routes.

PS Watch this space – there will definitely be another all-female road funride in 2012, as well as an all-female MTB funride!
