04 Nov 2011 PPA project founder nominated for Children’s Peace Prize
PPA has, for the past two years, supported the Chaeli Campaign. One of the Chaeli Campaign initiators, Michaela Mycroft, has now been nominated for the Desmond Tutu Children’s Peace Prize.
Michaela was born with Cerebral Palsy and fights for the rights and inclusion of children with disabilities in South Africa.
Her effort to help other children led to the start of the ‘Chaeli Campaign’, a professional organization with more than 20 employees, which helps disabled children.
Pedal Power sponsored a customized hand cycle to the Campaign this year to assist with their drive to mobilise the bodies of these “differently-abled gems”.
In the last four years , Pedal Power has spent a total of approximately R7 million on over 120 cycling-related projects.
