PPA STAY WIDER OF THE RIDER MERCHANDISE NOW AVAILABLE AT CYCLE LAB

PPA STAY WIDER OF THE RIDER MERCHANDISE NOW AVAILABLE AT CYCLE LAB

The Pedal Power Association, one of South Africa’s largest cycling organisations whose prime objective is to promote the safety of cyclists on our roads as well as to promote bike mobility within communities, is proud to announce that Cycle Lab will stock our popular lumo range of PPA Stay Wider of the Rider jerseys in their outlets throughout South Africa from September.

“Visibility is key to staying safe whilst out cycling, and we wish to encourage all road cyclists to purchase one of our jerseys to stay visible and safe when out cycling,” explains Neil Robinson, CEO of the PPA. “Wearing bright neon clothing during the daytime is ideal but reflective gear or strips is a must before sunrise and after sunset. Our jerseys combine both these needs. The jerseys are manufactured by Enjoy, who has been our supplier for many years. All the items are premium quality and real value for money,” Robinson said.

The first Cycle Lab store to carry the range of safe cycling jerseys, will be Cornubia in Durban. Stock will be available from Thursday 8th of September.  “The registration for Tour De Durban, with whom we also partnered to promote safe cycling in eThekwini, takes place at the store, so we want to encourage cyclists to come browse and fit on one of our jerseys.” Robinson added.

The PPA wishes to thank Andrew Mc Lean and the Cycle Lab team for their tremendous support of our safe cycling campaign since we launched it, way back in 2014. Andrew has been instrumental in assisting with the launch of the PPA’s #CyclistsLivesMatter campaign at the Cradle of Humankind back in March 2022 after the tragic death of André Piehl. #CyclistsLivesMatter focusses on the lack of prosecution, and we hope that going forward, all cases will be dealt with in a fair way to ensure that justice is done. The PPA is engaging in talks with all local governments with regards to the matter.  “Not everyone can afford attorneys, so our aim is to assist wherever we can with such cases,” said Robinson.

“To all cyclists out there, please support our campaign by purchasing one of our jerseys. Every purchase of a PPA Stay Wider of the Rider cycling jersey, helps us as an NPO, to extend our safe cycling campaign even further throughout South Africa,” Robinson concluded.
