24 Feb 2012 PPA safe cycling campaign: First winner
A delighted Mr Aaron Hendrickse took delivery of his brand-new Giant road bicycle this morning. Mr Hendrickse won the bicycle after picking up a bumper sticker at a cycle shop in DiepRiver, and putting it on the PPA Facebook page. His entry was randomly drawn from all entries received in the first week of the competition.
“It is fantastic that I have won a Giant road bicycle,” Mr Hendrickse said. “I own only a mountain bike and was going to do the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour on that. This bicycle came just at the right time!”
Mr Hendrickse applauded the PPA for the “Keep cyclists alive @ 1.5m” campaign.
Mr Michael Hirshfeld from Dragon Sports was on hand to hand over the bicycle to the winner.
The second winner will be drawn at lunchtime on Friday 24 February 2012. The lucky winner will win a Giant “Halfway” folding bicycle. The winner will be announced on the PPA websit and our Facebook page, and then has until 12h00 0n Wednesday 29 February to contact us to claim the prize.
In all, six bicycles can be won between now and 16 March 2012 – two road bicycles, two mountain bicycles, and two folding commuting bicycles. Read more about the competition on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/pedalpowerassociation – it’s very easy: Collect your bumper sticker from a participating cycle dealer or coffee shop, or from the PPA Office or one of the events this weekend, at the Junior Tour registration at Canal Walk or at our Expo stand (Cycle Tour entrants will receive one with their Expo letter), put it on your car and you could be spotted by our team while they are out on the road. You can also take a pic showing that your bumper sticker is on your car, for all to see, and post it onto our Facebook page – just remember to first ‘like’ our facebook page so that you too can post onto the page.
