Only 50 goody bags left for women’s-only funride entrants

Only 50 goody bags left for women’s-only funride entrants

With some 300 female cyclists who have already entered the brand-new women’s-only PPA “Heels on Wheels”, presented by SHAPE magazine on Sunday 11 December 2011, there are only 50 goody bags still up for grabs. The first 350 entrants receive a goody bag. This event is specially designed to cater for female cyclists who perhaps don’t participate in events as often as they’d like, or newcomers to the cycling scene. As such, the two routes are relatively flat and take place on quiet roads in the Paarl/Wellington area.Enter online now! click here

47.5 km – From the venue, cyclists will head out towards Paarl before turning left towards the Wellington 4-way stop. Continue along the R45 before turning left towards the Sonop Winery and left again onto the R44 before returning to the venue. There will be two water points en route. The route is primarily flat, with a few small ‘bumps’ in the Voorpaardeberg area.

13 km – Participants will follow a triangular route out towards the Wellington 4-way stop, R44 and back to the venue. There will be one water point along the route. This is an easy, flat route – ideal for first-timers!

Awesome lucky draw prizes include a Giant Bicycle, a night’s accommodation at any Protea Hotel, Canal Walk shopping vouchers and more. All finishers will receive a lovely medal.

Entries for the long route are open to all female cyclists over 16. Female riders who had entered the 13 km are welcome to bring their children (both male and female), 10 years and older, along for the 13 km route. Children in the 13 km route must be accompanied by the adult at all times; children’s entries for the 13 km will be taken only on the day.

After the event, stay for wine tasting, or visit the Rhebokskloof restaurant. A jumping castle will be in operation at the venue. (Your other half is welcome to hang out at Rhebokskloof and look after the kids while you have fun on your bicycle.)
