Cyclists who failed to secure a place in this year’s Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour still have a few days left to apply for a substitution entry. Substitution entries – which offer the last opportunity to take part in this year’s Cycle Tour - close this Friday, 24 February at midnight.

The first winner in the PPA Safe Cycling Competition is Aaron Hendrickse, whose name was randomly drawn from all the people who had entered the competition by posting a pic onto the PPA's Facebook page. Congratulations!

The Pedal Power Association (PPA) proudly launched its ‘Safe Cycling’ campaign on Wednesday 15 February 2012. The campaign focuses on a safe passing distance of 1.5m between vehicles and cyclists and ties in with new legislation expected to be passed later this year.

Cape Town, February 2012: Cycling SA has proposed a new constitution which will bring them in line with SASCOC ideals. This proposed new constitution will be discussed at a meeting with SASCOC later this month.

Do you need funds for a worthwhile cycling project? The Pedal Power Association (PPA) is putting money back into cycling, making profits obtained via the Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour available for the funding of cycling projects for 2012.

PPA is about to launch a major SAFE CYCLING campaign, focusing the attention on safe passing distance. We believe vehicles should pass cyclists with at least a 1.5m berth, and you can help us to spread the word.

Cyclists who missed the entry cut-off for the 2012 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour have one last chance to secure an entry with substitution entries which opened on Wednesday 1 February 2012.

Early birds receive a discounted entry fee for entering before 31 January 2012 (123km and 50km road races and 35km MTB only). Late entries for 50km and 35km MTB will be accepted only if the participation cut-off has not been reached.
