After dominating the men’s team field on all three days of the 2012 Columbia Grape Escape, the Team Songo-Specialized duo of Burry Stander and Christoph Sauser claimed a resounding victory today. Second place went to the Team Bulls duo of Stefan Sahm and Karl Platt, while the other Team Bulls duo of Tim Böhme and Thomas Dietsch took third.

Have you entered the PPA Wacky Wheels Weekend Adventure on 16-18 March 2012 yet? This overnight cycle tour is a chilled-out, very social weekend (no racing!) with the emphasis on FUN and a great weekend away. This year’s tour is a bit different to recent years in that your campsite is booked for both Friday and Saturday; you make your own way to and from Onrus where we leave our vehicles, and we do some fun out-and-back rides from there, with some great meals thrown in.

PPA responded as follows to the recent announcement from CSA that the Cycling South Africa constitution has been/is in the process of being changed: "As appears from press releases and the minutes of the "Special Constitutional Congress" held on 18 February 2012, Cycling South Africa ("CSA") purported to amend its previous constitution to a new one (the "2012 Constitution").

Congratulations to JOHNNY BOTHA, who is the second winner in the PPA Safe Cycling campaign and whose name was randomly drawn from everyone who had entered the competition by posting a pic of their bumper sticker onto this Facebook page, or by getting spotted by our PPA crew. Johnnny has until 12h00 on Wednesday 29 February to contact the PPA Office to claim his prize.

A delighted Mr Aaron Hendrickse took delivery of his brand-new Giant road bicycle this morning. Mr Hendrickse won the bicycle after picking up a bumper sticker at a cycle shop in DiepRiver, and putting it on the PPA Facebook page. His entry was randomly drawn from all entries received in the first week of the competition.

Cyclists who failed to secure a place in this year’s Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour still have a few days left to apply for a substitution entry. Substitution entries – which offer the last opportunity to take part in this year’s Cycle Tour - close this Friday, 24 February at midnight.
