23 Aug PPA SPRING LEAGUE

We have unexpectedly run into problems regarding the 2013 PPA Spring league, with two Spring road funrides informing us within the last week that they are either having to cancel the event or are unable to host a league event. This left only three league events for the Spring series. In addition, while we have received tacit approval from Western Cape Cycling that they will support PPA’s leagues, we expect final resolution between PPA and CSA to be reached only during September - after the date of the first road funride of the season.

18 Aug Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust launches Training Wheels programme for 2014 Cycle Tour

The Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust has launched their innovative Training Wheels programme aimed at preparing novices to the sport of cycling to enter, train for, and participate in their first Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour in 2014.  The fun, goal-oriented programme is aimed entirely at helping novices and first-time Cycle Tour entrants under the expert eye of career athlete and multi-qualified sport coach, Peter Huber. Applications are limited to 100 spots and are focused at Cape Town-based riders.

08 Aug PPA and CSA: The way forward

In February 2012, CSA wrote PPA out of its constitution despite PPA being granted entrenched rights in perpetuity in CSA’s founding constitution of 2004; PPA having been a primary motivator for unification prior to 2004.

25 Jul 2013 Coronation Double Century: Entries sold out

Entries for the 2013 Coronation Double Century opened on Thursday, 25 July, with all the available team spots already taken.  The 202km event, which starts and finishes in the historic town of Swellendam, is a challenging team cycling event renowned for its camaraderie. Celebrating its 21^st birthday this year, the Coronation DC takes place on Saturday, 23 November 2013.
