Ladies – it’s time to come and have some fun with us! Please join us on Saturday 22 July 2017 at the Anura Wine Estate near Simondium (close to Stellenbosch and Paarl) for the new YOU GO GIRL! Run & Ride.
We searched long and hard to find a new venue with great routes. Starting with the shortest route (5 km): This route is flat and non-technical and takes place on gravel roads. If this will be your first time on a mountain bike – you’ll have fun! This route is also perfect for moms who want to accompany their youngsters for a pedal around this scenic wine farm.
The 15 km is also mostly flat and non-technical, with less than 300m vertical ascent/descent. The good news is that this route will take you to the water point where bubbly and chocolates will be on offer! Kids u/12 who are accompanied by an adult at all times, are welcome to enter this route.
The 30 km route is a bit of a challenge. It is still not a very technical route, but it certainly includes more climbing and you need to be quite fit and have done a few MTB events before. Oh and it does include the ‘bubbly’ point!
So why should you come and do an all-girls event? Quite simply, the focus is on fun, and you are far more likely to hear your fellow riders shouting ‘Keep going’, ‘You can do it’ and “You Go Girl!” than “Give me track!”
Please bring along your female friends and do come and join us for a wonderful morning in the Winelands. The Anura Restaurant will be offering great food for sale, as well as their wines and craft beer (something to keep hubby or your partner busy while he waits for you to finish!).
Great lucky draw prizes can be won.
Online entries close at 15h00 on Thursday 20 July 2017 or when 400 entries have been received, whichever comes first. Late entries will be taken at the venue, from 07h00. The first riders (30 km) will start 08h00, followed by the 15 km and the 5 km. The lucky draw is scheduled for 11h30 and the cut-off will be at 12h00.
If you would like to be timed for the event, please remember to bring your Racetec timing chip along (timing chips will also be on sale on the morning).
- Don’t feel like cycling? We teamed up with Run the Vines who is putting on three Trail Run routes if two wheels is not your glass of wine. You can choose to do a 5km; 10 km or a 17 km for the very fit ladies. For more info on the trail runs, please click here.
