
Winelands Cycle Race 2022: PPA Listed Event
Please note this event is not organised by the Pedal Power Association. The Winelands Cycle Race event is only advertised by PPA on behalf of the organisers of the event.
NO late entries at registration or on race day. NO registration/ number collection will be allowed on race day because of Covid-19 Regulations.
The Winelands Cycle Race, a seeding race for the 2022 Cape Town Cycle Tour, takes place on Sunday 30th of January 2022 at Hugenote Primary in Wellington. This event has two race distances of 113km or the slightly shorter distance of 86km.
The Rotary Club of Paarl would like to heartily thank you for your participation in our Cycle Tour. All funds generated go to childcare projects in needy communities.

Route descriptions
112KM ROUTE
Cyclists assemble on the school field at Huguenot Primary School, with groups starting individually in General Hertzog Boulevard. The cyclists then head Northwest on Genl Hertzog Blvd and left into Cummings. Proceed straight crossing Barlinka, Bain and left into Church Street then right into College and right onto Addy road.
Proceed with Addy (Old Hermon) road and then left into Oakdene Road and right onto the R44 to Hermon. At Hermon turn left onto the R46, proceed over the Berg River, passing Riebeek Kasteel, with a stiff climb over Botmanskloof, and then descend towards the outskirts of Malmesbury.
Turn right onto the R45 heading into Malmesbury, taking a left turn into Loedolf and left again onto the R302 towards Klipheuwel. The cyclists proceed along the R302 and turn left onto the Vryguns Road, and left onto Slent, eventually turning right and merging with the 86 km route on the R45 towards Wellington.
Proceed on the R45 to the R45/R44 intersection, and turn left onto the R44, proceeding through the traffic lights at Distillery Road, then up Champagne, left into the inside lane of Piet Retief Street, and right into Blouvlei to finish outside Huis Andrew Murray. Cyclists will then turn left in Genl Hertzog and left into the Huguenot Primary School grounds for medals and refreshments.

86km Route
The cyclists assemble on the Huguenot Prinary sports fields. Starting groups depart separately in Genl Hertzog roadway, then head Northwest on Genl Hertzog Blvd and left into Cummings. TRAVELLING DIRECTIONS TO THE VENUE:
From Cape Town Area : Take the N1 north and exit at Exit 47. Turn left to Wellington via R44. Proceed straight at 4 intersection of R44/R45 , and proceed straight through 2 sets traffic lights and at third set turn left into Piet
Retief and then right into Blouvlei and immediately left into Bain. Turn right into Fontein Str and proceed straight until parking marshalls indicate a parking space.
