PPA Weekly Killarney Training Sessions

The final session will takes place on Tuesday, 4 March

Join us Tuesday at the Killarney Raceway for a training ride. The track is open to all PPA members as well as non-members who would like a safe environment to get a few extra kilometres in during the week. The track is a 3.276 km loop that is fairly flat with long straights to get the cadence high.

You can complete as many rounds as you like within the allocated period. Please ensure you ride with a helmet at all times, be aware of your fellow faster riders who would like to overtake you.

In order for PPA to communicate any information to riders wanting to attend the sessions we have decided to create a whatsapp group, this group will be a closed group and only we as PPA will be able to give you updates on the sessions. CLICK HERE to join the whatsapp group.

Sadly, some sessions need to be cancelled due to weather or track maintenance. These sessions are not cancelled without proper communication with the track and relevant weather sites being scrutinised, we understand that it is disappointing when we do cancel, however the ultimate responsibility for safety rests with PPA as the event organiser.

TIMES:

Registration from 17h15 (proof of current membership by means of downloading current membership card from PPA website is essential)

The session begins at 18h00 – 19h00 depending on the light

Please arrive on time, you will be required to fill out your details before being allowed on the track.

TRAINING SEASON:

September till December and commences again the second week in January till winter break end-March.

COST: PPA Members R40, non-members pay R60. Under 15 years old is free (cash only).

DIRECTIONS TO VENUE:

Please enter via Gate 1. Get on N1 in Foreshore from Christiaan Barnard St/M60. Drive along N7. Take exit 17 from N7. Drive to Potsdam Rd/M5

NOTES: 

The track is only available from 18h00. The track is live for cars up until 18h00, please don’t enter the track before being instructed to do so.

The pit area is not a safe area to cycle in – please do your warm-up laps on the oval behind the clubhouse.

Parking for cyclists is the grassed area in the oval behind the clubhouse. Please don’t park in the pits.
