Entries are open for Tiletoria Elgin Valley MTB

Entries are open for Tiletoria Elgin Valley MTB

Great news: Entries are open for our popular 2017 Tiletoria Elgin Valley MTB that will take place on Sunday 27 August on the Paul Cluver Wine Estate near Grabouw.

Limited entries are available. Last year entries sold out. So… rather be safe than sorry and get your entry in soonest!  CLICK HERE TO ENTER NOW.

THE ROUTES:

The two long routes, the 70 km and 45 km, have a RACE section as well as a RIDE section. Limited entries are available for the RACE, and seeding requirements will apply. Prize money will be paid in the RACE sections, while podium medals will be offered to both RACE and RIDE sections.  Equal prize money is on offer for the top 3 male and female riders (conditions apply) in both the 70 km (R5 250, R3 000, R1 500) and 45 km (R2 250, R1 500, R1000) routes.

  • If you are fit and experienced, the tough 70 km route over Groenlandberg is the route for you. This route is well-known to riders who have done the ABSA Cape Epic, and is a legendary climb in the area.It is NOT a route for beginners or novice riders, or unfit riders. Once you start the climb to the Mast, there’s no turning back. The descent includes some technical, steep sections that last year caught out some experienced riders. So don’t enter this route lightly – but if you’re up to it, it’s the stuff memories are made of.
  • The 45 km route takes place mostly on the Paul Cluver Estate, but includes a section on Oak Valley. While this route includes some of the tough climbs on Paul Cluver, fortunately the one over Groenlandberg is not one of those! Expect to visit most of the stunning single track and bridges on Paul Cluver though.
  • The 30 km route will also take in the best that Paul Cluver Wine Estate can offer (with a section through Oak Valley),but excludes some of the tougher hills. You will, however, still be able to ride some of the amazing single track and bridges on Paul Cluver (where possible, ‘chicken runs’ will be offered). This is the route to do if you are an experienced beginner, or perhaps not as fit as you’d like to be.
  • The untimed 15 km follows a ‘figure-of-eight’ format which gives you the option of riding only one, or both of the loops. It primarily takes place on farm roads, but still has a climb/descent or two to get a good work-out. This route is suited to youngsters of all ages. Paid-up PPA members can ride the 15 km FREE.

DON’T MISS THE ENTRIES CUT-OFF:

Entries close on 14 August or as soon as 1200 entries have been received, whichever comes first. A reminder – in 2017 as well as in 2016 entries sold out, so don’t delay and get your entry in soonest.

Limited late entries will be accepted on the day of the event if the event cut-off has not been reached – late entry fees will apply.

NEW VENUE LAY-OUT

The venue lay-out will change slightly for 2017, with a new parking area being opened up specifically for the 70 km riders. More information will be sent to entrants prior to the event.

JOIN US FOR A ‘JOL’ AFTER YOUR RIDE

After the ride, everything will happen under the marquee tent on the big field next to the finish line. Expect good coffee, a number of food trucks, craft beer and wine on sale while MC’s Deon Bing and Paul Valstar will keep you entertained.
