Just 10 days after entries for the 2014 Cape Argus Pick n Pay MTB Challenge opened, two thirds have already been snapped up, leaving only 1 000 entries still available for the four mountain biking routes.
For the past three years, the Pedal Power Association, a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 18/11/13/2410), has been actively campaigning to improve the conditions of cyclists on the roads, running various local and national initiatives to bring across the message that CYCLISTS STAY ALIVE AT 1.5m. The Association is now looking for a highly organised go-getter to co-ordinate the campaign and take it to the next level.
Entries for the 13th annual Cape Argus Pick n Pay MTB Challenge opened on Monday, 20 January. 2014 marks an exciting change in format with the event moving to Le Bonheur Wine Estate in The Greater Simonsberg Conservancy in Stellenbosch. The move offers mountain biking enthusiasts entirely new, never-ridden-before routes develped by well-known MTB trail enthusiast Meurant Botha.
Entries have opened for the annual PPA Wacky Wheels Overnight Tour on 29-30 March 2014. A maximum of 50 spots are available for this fun overnight cycle tour, so book your spot soonest!
The Pedal Power Association is shocked and saddened at the death of two cyclists in Worcester on Thursday 9 January 2014. The two female cyclists were killed after being run over by a truck.
Limited late entries for the Tour de PPA on Sunday 19 January are available at the PPA Office during registration for the event, Wednesday 15 January 10h00-16h30 and Thursday 16 January 08h30-16h30.
The Pedal Power Association is pleased to announce that the 2014 Summer League will consist of a combined calendar of league races (funrides with a racing component) and other events to provide league riders with a total of seven events to compete in, with Ribbens Office National (RON) coming onboard as the sponsor of the Summer League. Substantial prize money will be on offer.

The new PPA Tread Lightly Twilight MTB ride on Friday 13 December 2013 is something different - and should definitely not be missed. Amongst others, the first 250 participants who enter by Friday 29 November will each receive a lovely gift; lucky draw prizes will go to the best fancy dress costumes at the event; the routes are devised to be non-technical but FUN, and Santa will definitely be at the event...
