24 Feb 2012 A fun-filled family day out at Boschendal
The annual MTB Challenge – now in its 11th year – offers good, clean family fun at the historic Boschendal Wine Estate over two days and is the perfect escape for the whole family.
On Saturday 3 March, novice and casual riders can tackle either the 13km or 29km routes that wind through the beautiful vineyards and terrain of Boschendal. Those who are not competing in the race can relax under the trees with some delicious food, a refreshing drink or an ice-cold beer while they wait for family and friends to cross the finish line.
David Bellairs, Marketing and Sponsorship Director for the event, says “Sitting near the finish line and cheering on the arriving cyclists while tucking into the wide variety of food and drink available from the vendors is simply the best way to enjoy the atmosphere of this event. Saturday is also the final day of the Columbia Grape Escape, so families and friends of participants in the three-day race can welcome cyclists as they cross the finish line.”
On Sunday 4 March, the more experienced rider could choose between a 32km, 52km or brand new 65km route that will test the mettle of even the most hardened professional.
