Entries for our women’s-only funride on Sunday 11 December, the PPA Heels on Wheels presented by SHAPE magazine, close THIS WEEK on 1 December. With two fairly easy routes over 47 km and 13 km, interest in this new event has been high from the word ‘go’ and entries are still streaming in. EVENT INFO
Die Burger Cycle Tour will take place on Sunday 4 December 2011. Participants will once again start and finish the event at the Stellenbosch High School in Jannasch Street (off Merriman Street).
The event features two distances this year. The challenging 92 km route is the final seeding opportunity for the 2012 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour, while the 44 km short route is aimed at novices and less fit riders.
Participants in both distances will tackle the Ou Helshoogte Pass before enjoying the spectacular Stellenbosch and Drakenstein landscapes. There is a 6,000 rider entry limit and only pre-entries will be accepted.
