MTB PPA MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL REMINDER/NEXT SEEDING RUN The next seeding run will take place on Friday this week - if you have not yet paid your subs and want a seeded number for the Worcester funride, please renew by close of business on Friday 2 September, either via the PPA website or the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour website. Click here to renew your subs now. PPA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Please diarise and come to the PPA Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 14 September 2011, at the Canal Walk Auditorium, 17h45 for 18h30 start. Spring is in the air, which means the days are getting longer and warmer, and it's time to get fit. Have you ever tried cycling to and from work? Not only is it a great way to get fit; you also save petrol, and - for short trips - commuting by bicycle is often faster than sitting in rush-hour traffic. PPA SEEDING RUN UPDATE All PPA memberships were due on the 1st July 2011. Thank you to our members who have already renewed. The first seeding run took place last Friday and the new road and MTB numbers of everyone who had renewed until then, are in the process of being posted. If you have not already renewed, please do so now via our secure online site to ensure you are included in the second seeding run.

Join the Table Mountain Bikers on Sunday 28 August 2011 for a leisurely ride on Table Mountain. This ride will form part of the “Mountain Safety Day” which is coordinated by SANParks, Police and Metro Police, with various interested parties also onboard.

We need your help! The PPA Executive Committee is looking for a cycling-related project/s that the Association itself can take on during 2012. In other words, what kind of project do you think the Association should become involved with? Perhaps you can think of something to do with cycling development and schools cycling; a specific commuting-related project or a project that would assist previously disadvantaged communities?

The first seeding run will take place towards the end of this week or over the weekend, after which the new season's road and new MTB funride numbers will be posted.

The good news is: After years of talking about it, we are finally able to split road and MTB seeding and from now on, our members will have a different road and MTB PPA seeded number. To set the ball rolling and to test the new system, we are now issuing new MTB ‘back numbers’ to all paid-up PPA members who participate in MTB events on the PPA calendar; the intention being to replace the MTB back numbers with permanent PPA seeded frame numbers from 2012.
